SUNDAY: GETTING TO KNOW YOU
Name game, assessment, introduce grip and review camp policies
& procedures. |
SUNDAY: REVIEW
Review, commence with MILE RUN and individual goal evaluation
for week 2. |
SUNDAY: INTRODUCTION
Assessment and fitness evaluation/goal setting & group
formation. |
MONDAY:
BUILDING BASICS
Emphasis on the fundamentals of the game such as
forehand/backhand drive, drop, volley boast, serve and serve
return. |
MONDAY: EXECUTING BASICS
Cover fundamentals such as forehand, backhand drive etc. under
pressure situations. |
MONDAY:
STROKE PRODUCTION
Provide understanding of stoke variation for different shots.
Introduce advanced solo and pairs training practices |
TUESDAY:
BASICS CONTINUED
Review and explain how forehand/backhand drive, drop, volley
boast can be implemented in a game situation. |
TUESDAY: BEYOND BASICS
Use basic skills under playing conditions and develop
strategic understanding of shot making. |
TUESDAY:
STROKE EVALUATION
Provide understanding of how to vary the basic stroke under
pressure and/or instinctive situations. Identify individual
needs and form training groups |
WEDNESDAY:
PUTTING IT IN PLAY
Introduce serve and serve/return enabling campers to use basic
skills learned under playing conditions. Finish with “A MILE
RUN” highlighting that squash is a game that requires stamina. |
WEDNESDAY: SELF-ASSESSMENT
Identify one key area for development. Form skill &
goal-oriented groups to practice and hone individual needs. |
WEDNESDAY:
SITUATIONAL PLAY
Create practices and conditions requiring execution and reflex
action under pressure. |
THURSDAY:
YOGA/Q & A
Introduce yoga to provide focus, balance and stretching for
injury prevention. Q&A session for individual needs to develop
specific drills. |
THURSDAY: YOGA/Q&A
Intermediate yoga to provide self-awareness, relaxation
techniques and breathing for match situations. Q&A session for
individual needs to develop specific drills. |
THURSDAY:
YOGA FOR SQUASH
Provide understanding, well-being and injury prevention
required for a competitive squash player. Q&A strategy session
for team competition. |
FRIDAY:
TEAM COMPETITION
Team formation and inter-team competition to develop
confidence for individual match play. |
FRIDAY: COMPETE
Introduce individual match play, assess and evaluate
performance to prepare each camper for individual tournament
play. |
FRIDAY:
GRAND FINALE
Assess each participant under competitive conditions through
individual tournament. Matches followed with prize giving.
